Holton H177 Double French Horn SERVICED, with New Case
Holton H177 Double French Horn. Good Playing, but ugly. Just serviced and all slide and valves are free and smooth. Come with new case, but no mouthpiece. Notes from tech: Rough cosmetically, but valves seal well. Valves rebuilt many years ago. Small dents throughout, most notably in left hand guard molding. Has had significant dent removal done on bell resulting in a couple small patches. F crossover branch had multiple fractures, necessitating a sleeve be put over it to reinforce area, but should not affect pitch or function. Horn could be re-plated, but only to make it look better, not play better. These horns are almost 5000 new! Specs from new model. Pitch: A445 With Independent Bb Tuning. Bore: 11.89 Mm. 310 Verturi Of Nickel Silver. Lever Action: Noiseless String Action, Short Stroke With Stainless Steel Springs. Valve Rotors: Tapered Hand-Lapped Brass. Custom Made Tom Vosler #9267 Signed Hunting Knife With Hand Carved Horn Handle. Handle is exquisite & in mint condition, but the blade has surface scratches and a small nick on one side of the blade edge. I’m not sure if the knife was actually used, but it suffered from be stored and moved around without a sheath for years. (I think it was made in early 2000s). It just needs a little TLC from someone who knows what they’re doing. The knife has a 5.5″ blade and a 6″ horn handle. It weighs approximately 11 oz. Indicating that he puts a piece of his heart in each knife that he makes. I have been unable to find any other Vosler knife with such an elaborately carved handle.
