Beautifully engraved silver mount Chester Hallmark. Condition there is a dent to the letter O of Powell in the name in the silver mount. May be wear to the top of the horn carving.. Cane itself is in very good condition. The top handle part is Black Horn but not sure what the sheaf part with the knots is made from. Antique Afghani Silver Covered Gourd Powder Horn and Dagger with Sheath. Lot of two pieces. Old Afghani powder horn made from a gourd and covered with coin silver decorations. Chain attached metal stopper has a green “emerald” in it which looks like some old glass or plastic bead. The gourd has wonderful silky patina on it and the condition is Excellent. Powder horn is 6 inches long by 2 inches wide at the base. Old dagger with sheath. Dagger is made of cast iron with brass strips and polished bone flanking the the handle and held together with hammered iron rivets. The hilt is iron also as is the pommel. The sheath is made of coin silver and has a thin wooden interior sleeve. The sheath is finely decorated and includes a piece of snake or lizard shin. A dark brown brass attachment bar with lovely patina was affixed as well. The dagger fits snugly into the sheath. Condition of both pieces is Excellent. Dagger in sheath is 9 inches long. I bought these two items from an old Afghani merchant in San Francisco in the early 1980’s. Very nice items that are very attractive.
