Set of 12 Vintage Silver and Buffalo Horn Chopsticks with Silver and Horn Stands
To be clear, these are new and unused. In fact, the card and tag from the store was still inside when we opened the box to photograph the chopsticks. The silver does show some tarnishing but will easily polish up. Given the vintage nature of these we elected to leave them as is. The chopsticks are about 9.125 inches in length. The horn section is beautiful – very smooth and glossy. The horn looks black but in fact is very dark brown in hand, and you can see some of the very subtle striations of the bone in the texture and color. The chopstick stands also show some tarnish on their silver ribs but again this is easily polished off – its just surface oxidation. Having never been used, the condition is as you would expect: absolutely pristine. The box is lined in blue raw silk and measures approximately 10 inches x 12 inches x 1.25 inches. The outside is decorated with woven fabric. These pieces have been passed down in my family for generations and were acquired mostly in China and Hong Kong. This piece is as stated, from Thailand. A few things to bear in mind – these chopsticks are handcrafted from actual silver and real buffalo horn. Given that horn is an organic material, some slight variations in color and texture are to be expected. Not an expert but Ill do my best to answer all queries.
