Handle has a small piece missing near the end, as pictured. Lock mechanism is very tight and clicks thru the position well, but does gave a bit of a wiggle in the open most position. 11″ long open and 6″ closed. Fine Antiques & Jewellery. A Victorian carved (bovine) horn beaker with a silver rim mount by Sampson Morden & Co. It is beautifully carved with flowers and birds. The silver rim has a griffin head chased to the front. The base of the beaker is an inset glass disc which is an interesting feature. The hallmarks are a little rubbed but can be made out as for London 1882. The style is influenced the the Aesthetic movement and the design flows nicely with the natural material. The silver rim was made to fit the horn and undulates and is raised on one side. A rare and interesting item. There is an obvious indent to the rim at one point. Minor wear to the body. These were the times when a walking stick cane was also a fashion accessory and statement piece to be seen with. The Cane has a solid wooden shaft with a new heavy duty rubber cane tip protector. This is topped with a Carved Antler Horn and where the antler is joined to the wooden stick is surrounded by a beautiful Silver Band with a striking swirling leaf design and a blank shield space from which to personalise with your name or initials. The Silver Band doesn’t appear to have their silver markings visible, they could have worn off over the years. Condition – In a Very Good Antique Condition with wear in keeping with its age – Victorian Times. The Stick Cane is still in a condition to be used. Details: Over the centuries the walking stick transformed into an elegant accessory essential to a gentleman’s/ ladies fashion statement. This particular walking stick has beautiful strong smoothed horn handle which add great comfort. Under the horn handle is a silver collar with engraving and silver hallmarks dated Chester c1900. Engraving Presented To R. Kirkpatrick By The Morning Star Lodge Oct 1901. Morning Star Lodge is a lodge of Freemasons located in Worcester. The handle is situated on top of long strong dark brown wooden stick with strong durability. The bottom of the stick has a metal stopper. Condition: Overall the walking stick is in very good condition. Solid and strong wooden body. The stick has some light surface scratches. Also is slightly cracked at the back of stick but still intact and can be used. Silver collar is in very good condition but does have some pitting and ware.
