Finally got a batch in, so order early. These horns turned out to be VERY popular. I can tell when several were. This is a great value in a C trumpet, Silver Plated with Gold Trim. NOTE: The picture shows a variable 3rd valve slide ring. The latest batch comes with a FIXED ringer (as do most professional horns). First, since there are many folks who are looking for “a trumpet” and not sure what to get. So I would like to mention that if you’re looking for a general trumpet for a high school student, or a new starting player: THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT. Trumpets come in various “keys” In the US the vast majority are “B-flat” when the trumpet is played in it’s natural mode it’ll play the same pitch as a b-flat on a piano. The music written for the B-flat trumpet will compensate for this difference so the fingerings stay the same when you’re looking at the music, (Hopefully that’s not too confusing). However the C trumpet is often used in orchestral music. Some players like to have one around when they are playing music written in C and don’t want to transpose in their head, or they find the key easier to play with a C trumpet. This was brought into inventory after I got several e-mails from various folks who played one and wanted to see if I had them in stock. Well at the time I didn’t, so I brought some in not only to expand the offering, but also to offer up to the college player and others who need a “C” trumpet but. It won’t be their primary instrument (though, no reason it couldn’t serve that purpose). While I like to be able to talk in great details about the trumpets I sell, I’m not a professional player and I rarely play a C trumpet. What I can say is this is a well built horn. It’s responsive and STAINLESS STEEL VALVES. (Some folks I’m very nervous sending a new horn out, but it’s so gratifying to get a thumbs up). So, for the College student who is more a jazz/commercial player but needs a C trumpet, for the weekend warrior who needs a horn for church music, for the advancing high school student needing a new challenge. As a note, one of things I find the most difficult transition to the C trumpet is it’s SO close to the B-flat, but not their. It’s very hard to think to the center of the tone. There’s also a great tendency to overblow the horn. I even find an E-flat easier since it’s further off. So play this horn lightly until comfortable. Give it it’s own fair shares of drills and exercises. Especially don’t just show up to an orchestral rehearsal with a freshly acquired C and try playing it cold in front of people. The trumpet comes with a lightweight but strong case, It has Yellow Brass Lead pipe and bell. Bell Measures 4.92 inches. Sure a Mouthpiece is included. And let’s not forget the gold trim.
