SOLID GEORGIAN SOLID SILVER WITH GLASS STONE SCOTTISH SNUFF MULL HORN c1800. This is a Georgian Solid Silver Scottish Snuff Mull Horn, this i believe to have been crafted c1800 making it around 218 years old, this isnt Hallmarked but that isnt unusual for these Scottish Snuff Horns of this Period but it does test for Solid Silver, this really is a Stunning Snuff Horn with the most Beautiful Colours on the Horn of Light Brown and Dark Brown, and the Horn has a lovely Curl at the End. It has a Solid Silver Round Raised Mount to the Neck, with a nice Band design around the edge of the Lid, the Hinge is Strong and the Lid closes nice and tight, the Silver Collar on the neck of the Horn still retains a little Gilt to it, and the inside of the Lid has its original Gold Gilt and looks Beautiful with the Rounded section on the inside Lid, on the outside of the Lid is Clear Stone applied to the Finial with a Floral Framing around the edge of the Stone, underneath there is a Crest of a Griffon of the Clan Macgregor or Gregor with the Word COURAGE. This would have been owned by someone Wealthy in the Georgian Period and this Snuff Horn would have meant something special in the Family Clan in Scotland, this really is an important piece of History, condition is very good on the Horn and the Silver with normal light Wear, there is a few little chips in the Glass stone and is only mentioned for accuracy, this would make a lovely gift and would add something special to any collection.
