The natural hollowed out horn mounted to one end with a silver mouth piece and to the other with a silver mount embossed in relief with a decorative band. The mouth piece has an impressed makers mark along with an 875 silver mark enclosing the letter r. We cannot and will not declare items below the sale value. It is mounted with a curved blade that measures 6 1/2 inches in length by 1 7/8 inches at the widest which has some flaking to its plating and a small opening to the tip. The nicely designed silver hilt is intricately detailed and remains nice in its condition with just a few dings and frames a beautiful blond horn hilt that remains very healthy in its condition. Beautiful Jambyia dagger with finely worked silver sheath from Yemen. With beautiful belt, decorated with 3 Yemeni Arab pendants. Length 115.00 cm. Width 7.00 cm. The handle is horn with silver decorations. The sheath is leather at the back, the front is nice silver work goldsmith. The blade is traditionally slightly curved and in steel with central stop this one has Arab engravings. In Yemen, most men wear one as early as their fourteenth birthday. As the jambiya looks more like a jewel, it often has a handle and a sheath richly decorated, like this dagger.
