Strong malacca shaft and an original metal ferrule Measurements Length – 86cm Length of handle – 11.5cm Shaft diameter – 2.5cm 300g. Early in the 20th century, Malacca was referred to as the King of Canes. Malacca is one species of rattan (Calamus Ascipionum) found on the coast of Sumatra. Rattan palms have long, slender stems, and were perfect for the making of walking sticks. The stem is not round, but has a ridge or spine, often called a “tear-drop, ” running along its length. Very light-weight, yet very strong, With a good flex for comfortable walking yet like a bamboo unbreakable. With no two specimens being alike.
