The versatile Model H177 offers a compact feel and bright sound. It includes a hand-fitted rotary valve system, string linkage, separate Bb tuning slide, and a change lever designed to fit the thumb in a natural position. The original valves on this horn are still tight, with 99% of original lacquer to the body and slides. This one is an honest H-177 that has come to us in close to pristine original condition. Phil Farkas told us, actually face-to-face, that he used a model H-177 for several years when he was in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Not the 179, but the 177!
