The horns have a pair of metal, possibly silver, mounts around the lip and the tip, the silver decorated with relief designs. The silver mounting on the lip also have inlaid green stones. Each horn is fitted with a chain for suspension. The curved length of the horns is about 30. The straight length from tip to lip is about 20. The mouth is about 5 wide. ANTIQUE HUNTING STYLE HORN BUGLE WITH SILVER PLATE MOUNTS PROBABLY SCOTTISH c1880. Dimensions – Approx 38cm in length. Rim of Bugle is 11.6cm in diameter. Condition – In Good Used Condition. I have not cleaned or polished the item, leaving it’as found’ in well used condition. The Bugle’s silver plate Rim is in tarnished and slightly dented condition as is shown in the photos. There are two rings on the silver plate mounts to attach a chain or string to. The mouthpiece section is in good condition. The Horn itself is also in very good condition with strong colour tones, some wear but no rips or holes. A very decorative and evocative item.
