1937 Benge Chicago #558 Case & Mouthpiece. Legendary Horn Extremely Rare Find. This is a very rare Benge Bb Trumpet that was hand built by Elden Benge around 1937. The serial numbers for his horns began at 500 so this would be the 59th horn he custom built in his garage. I love Benge trumpets and to own a horn you know he built with his own hands is beyond cool if you are a true Benge fanatic. The leadpipe has a patch from solid silver done in the way Eldon would created a patch himself to keep the horn original. The wear patch on top of the 3rd valve is original it is something Benge would install to keep finger from wearing through the slide it is on many other Chicagos I have owned including #608.
