1907 Conn Conn-Queror Cornet with Case Silver & Gold vintage brass horn
This is a Cornet in Bb labeled Conn-Queror / C G Conn / Maker / Elkhart Ind. ” on the bell and on the second valve “M for medium bore and serial number 100284 which dates this to about 1907. This is silver plated brass with some areas of plating loss only on the main tuning slide. The valves work great and still have pretty good compression. I can only hear a slight air hiss on each of the valves when pressurized. Plays with a great sound and decent tuning. Plays in modern low pitch A = 440hz and has a secondary tuning slide which was probably meant to change this to play in A. There are two missing knobs on slides and the second slide has a slight flat spot. The bell has a nice gold wash on the inside and there are two crease marks on the bell from wrinkles being removed. Comes with a Conn case that’s in ok condition. One outer latch has lost its spring but the others work fine. Also has original music lyre and cleaning rod. Included is a Buescher Tru-Tone 1 silver plated mouthpiece in really nice condition. 4-5/8″ bell x 14-1/2″ long with a 0.448 bore at the second valve slide.
