I offer this Burmese knife, also known as “Dha”. The handle is made of a complete deer horn which is unusual for this kind of knife. Handle and wooden scabbard are silver mounted. This mountings are decorated with ornate embossed ornaments and motifs. On the scabbard you can see a snake at one side and an elephant at the other. The blade is made of steel. Added to the scabbard are tassels for decoration or to use them as hanger. A nice example of Burmese craftmanship. Dimensions: complete 30,5cm; without scabbard 28,5cm; blade 15,5cm. You can see from the pictures that this horn is in great shape. The brass slides are shiny and move perfectly. The Valves are quick and crisp. The same valve cluster as a Strad, these Monel valves are fantastic. This horn was made in about 2002 and has some minor scratches and tiny dings… Nothing that would effect playing or looks. No plating loss at all!! These horns are great, and at a fraction of a new ones costs! This one has many goodies with it, including the original case and keys to lock it, a straight mute, a mouthpiece brush, and cleaning rod. Anyone who doesn’t want to pay over 1,200 for a Bach Strad!
