In 2005, UNESCO put the Kris on the list of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Mankind, and in 2008. It was included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mankind. More than 110 years ago, the Kris dagger was already shown in sample books of various Solingen knife manufacturers.
