A Kaemph & Son New York Cornet Bb/A 1906-09- Rebuilt – with original Case & Mouthpiece Bore. Nice condition very rare vintage horn with gold caps, buttons, water-key and gold-washed bell. Bell was crushed at the 3rd valve body joint and required removal, repair is visible but it came out nice considering the condition it was in. Horn comes with a Bb and A lead-pipe, horn also has an extended slide for either LP or HP playing. Slides feel nice, valves are smooth and compression is very good. 1st and 3rd slide are missing original pulls. Original case and a York and Sons Weldon #1 mouthpiece are included which came with the horn. Lyre pictured does not screw into the mounting component, I’m not sure which is original. Bonus photo (slide produced in Seoul Korea) included has picture of a past owner perhaps? UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns. Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed. Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by NAPBIRT). Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour). Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly. Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed. Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale. Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years.
