Antique Tibetan Carved Yak Horn Prayer Wheel with Intact Prayer Scroll
A well assembled Tibetan top of a prayer wheel. The wheel itself is carved from Yak horn and stuffed with. A long Tibetan prayer scroll. The sides are carved with Buddhas and Tibetan Lanta script. One end is carved with a double Vajra and the other end is carved with an 8 Spoke Wheel. The double Vajra is used as a symbol to promote concentraion and meditation. The 8 Spoke Wheel represents the 8 parts of the Dharma, the 8 parts to wisdom and the end of suffering. The top of the wheel is capped with silver and the chain and weight are also of silver. Small but very imposing! 19th C or earlier. 2 3/8 inches H.
