Apply machine/gun or motor oil/lubricant to the blade surface at least once a month or after each usage. Avoid fingerprints after oiling the blade. To remove rust, first clean the blade with gasoline, then use fine sandpaper, wipe it clean, and apply oil. A buff machine can polish rust-infected areas. To keep your knife looking new, sometimes use shoe polish for leather sheaths, furniture wax for wood, Brasso for brass fittings, and Silvo for silver. In case of the Dragon blade Scrub it with a toothbrush dipped in petrol and wipe it clean before displaying. The blunt Chakmak sharpens on both sides. For faster and better results, use a sharpening stone. Oil the blade heavily, wrap it in plastic with food wrap, or polythene (no air pockets), and keep it out of the scabbard before storing it. Same with both small knives. Store the knife dries at room temperature.

I believe this is a very rare combo set, that Gerome Weinand custom made. I could not find another. The knife isn’t perfect but in very good used condition with a mirror like finish. It looks close to unused. It was hard to get good nonreflecting pictures. The first four pictures show the blades the best without the reflecting, I got with the other pictures. There are some minor scratches and a little metal staining. The knife and hatchet were never sharpened and still have the original sharp edges. There is a brass screw that holds the knife and hatchet to the handle. There are 6 brass pins in the handle. I believe the scales are Elk Horn, there is an Elk etched on the knife and hatchet blades??? From my research, he used some Elk Horn. I believe the blades are carbon steel, they are very magnetic. I do see some scratches and some dings on the sheath. Some of the copper rivets on the sheath and the brass guard need some cleaning. You will have to be the judge.
