DC53 Tool Steel is a tool steel with exceptional toughness, wear resistance, compressive strength and temper resistance. These properties are obtained through its chemistry. Primary Carbides in DC53 are relatively small with highly uniform distribution as compared to other lower grade tool steels such as D2. This helps to provide DC53 with its superior toughness and fatigue resistances. DC53 has twice the toughness of D2 with superior wear resistance and substantially higher fatigue strength compared to D2 and holds an edge extremely well. When done using the knife, wash it in soap and water, dry completely, coat in olive oil and store away from the sheath.
