Silver metal mounted horn Christening spoon, complete with metal cup. Both are elegantly and carefully engraved, “HMH”. Detail and precision of the craftsmanship, is as shown in the photos. The cup is missing some detail, around the rim where the pattern has worn with regular polishing. The spoon has also seen use and shows a natural twist in the horn, which sits most comfortably in the right hand. This is shown in the photos and would suggest that this item has been used over its history, as it was intended. Makers marks are not visible on the cup, presumably due to the regular cleaning. Makers marks are also not present on the spoon, due to the size of the shield, which is home to the engraving. This listing is for a nice antique American Sterling Silver shoe horn with elaborate engraved floral and scroll design on handle, c. This shoe horn has an unusual engraved floral and scroll design on both sides. Marked “Sterling” on each side of handle. Only the handle end is Sterling. Measures 8″ long and 1 1/2″ wide. The Sterling handle is in very good Estate condition, although there are some very minor dings on smooth sides. Shoe horn end is set slightly off center into handle and reflects wear commensurate with age and use (see photos). No other noted damage or flaws.
