I’ve played this guy through college bands and orchestras as well as local community bands. While I love this horn, Covid has caused financial difficulties and I’m looking to get back on my feet. Hopefully I’ll be able to get and Alexander horn when all this is said and done! While this horn has been used for many years, I have kept it in excellent condition. I recently cleaned the horn, however there is a little tarnish on the valves and chips to the lacquer (most notably towards the bell); these are minor cosmetic defects and do not affect playability. This is NOT an Elkhart Model! Included with the horn is a Laskey 70G European shank (these are currently out of production). The Conn 8D has a hybrid leadpipe, so it can take American or European shank sizes; I just prefer the European. The Clebsch handstrap is also included, along with the case. The case has a broken zipper and heavy wear on the handles, but it still functions nonetheless! I have also included a Holton Farkas mouthpiece and two of my favorite method books. I did not include these in the pricing (they’re free). If I’m getting rid of the horn, these items should go with it regardless. Good marching French horn in Bb by YAMAHA, model YHR302M. The 302M Marching French Horn features a. 472 inch bore with a well balanced design to alleviate strain on the player. Heavy duty bracing at critical structural points adds durability for use on the field. The mouthpiece receiver accepts a standard French horn mouthpiece. The instrument is in the KEY OF Bb. There is no evidence of any major damage to the instrument, but our shop has removed minor dents and dings. There is a small patch on the front branch, but no other patches or thin spots and no red-rot in the mouthpipe The original lacquer finish is worn maybe 10%. In spite of a few scratches and speckles the original lacquer finish actually looks very presentable and should protect the brass for many years. The valve pistons are in very good condition with no worn spots to the nickel plating. The valves are tight, with good compression. Valve action is fast and quiet. Mouthpiece (not in the photos) and good original case are included. We have several nearly identical instruments. Thanks for looking at our listing.
