Wichita Band Instrument Company. Used Holton H-280 “Phil Farkas model” Double French Horn in Yellow Brass, Nickel-Silver Trim, Detachable Bell Flare; serial #664942. Holton horns offer an alternative in design that creates a great experience for the young or advanced players. The Farkas wrap offers independent tuning for convenience allowing the player to tune the Bb side of the horn separately from the F side. The H280 is a free-blowing horn with rich and resonant intonation and good projection. Model H280 is an excellent orchestral horn with dark sound and bright overtones. The original valves on this horn are still tight, with 99% of original lacquer. This one is a late H-280 that has never been school owned and has come to us in close to pristine original condition. Good player, not expensive! This one looks and plays like new! Wichita Band Instrument Company is a small musical instrument emporium located in the center of the USA. The owners are Kansas natives Gary L. Ray and his two sons. Founded by a woodwind repair technician in 1953, we soon will commence our seventy-first year in business. We’re not a “back bedroom” operation but can report that we are the owners of a proper “brick and mortar” workshop. It’s in addition to any factory guarantees. For two full years, we will repair or replace (whichever in our estimation is the more advisable), pads, corks, springs or other parts required, at no charge to the customer. In the event of cracked or damaged wood sections, we will repair at no cost to the customer or replace the section and charge the customer only for our net costs for the replacement section. Wichita Band Instrument Company maintains a repair department capable of restoration work of the highest quality. Even though repairs are essentially “free” for the first two years, after that period has expired, we remain at your service to maintain and repair your musical equipment forever.
