This rare sword is typical of Central Timor, Indonesia. The handle is carved in the shape of a stylized bird’s head. The birds comb is set with a total of 8 silver 1/10 guilder coins. The bottom of the handle is trimmed with a wide silver band. 10 Wide silver bands surround the sheath that is also carved from buffalo horn. Trimmed at the bottom with a silver foot. The long, convex forged blade has a blood channel along its entire length. Given the age, the whole is in a very good condition.
