This is a beautiful Jess Horn Lockback knife. It is about 3 3/8 inches long when closed and about 5 7/8 inches long when the blade is opened. There is a thong hole near the tail. This knife opens and closed with ease. It centers well and deep when closed. On the front side of the tang it says HORN and on the reverse side it says 037. On the front side is a round shield that says: Kansas City, J. This knife has White Micarta Handles and there are no crack at any of the pins on both sides. The bolsters are engraved by Bruce Shaw, a great knife by Horn and engraving by Shaw. Bruce did a standard scroll overlapping on a leaf background, very delicate work. His knives are very desirable, and highly collectible. This knife comes pretty close though, never used, carried or sharpened. Japanese Double Bevel Yanagiba Knife 12.5 inch/ 310mm Shirogami #2 (White Steel) Stainless Clad. This knife is hand made by a 3rd generation blacksmith, Mr. Jun-ichi Ide of Shimabara, Nagasaki, Japan. The blade was forged from famous Shirogami #2 carbon steel clad in softer stainless steel. The core or edge is not stainless and it will rust easily. Please wash the knife after each use and dry completely. This knife is fitted with the traditional octagonal handle made of magnolia wood. This is specifically designed to slice sashimi. The knife comes with the original paper gift box. Important: This knife is hand made, and there may be some imperfection as to the appearance. Please examine the photos to determine if it is acceptable. Maintenance: Just wash the knife and handle with soap and sponge, rinse and dry. If you store it for an extended time, use of oil is necessary to prevent the rust on blade. Warning: The core/edge is not a stainless steel, so it will rust unless you dry it right after each use. Silver and Brass Music Shop is a brick-and-mortar brass instrument restoration and repair shop located in Carson City, NV. This is a vintage (serial number 285636) King single french horn in F. This horn is in good condition, and plays well. The valves move well with good compression and the slides all move of course. As for the aesthetic condition of this horn, there are a few small dings and pings as well as isolated areas of light pitting, scratching, and etching throughout. The inside of the bell flare and the bell throat has slightly more significant etching, pitting, and scratching. The bell engraving reads: KING/ MADE BY/ THE H. The minor flaws are visible in the pictures, and none of them affect the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop, and repaired to full playability. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now; if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely “raw brass” patina over time.
