Daggers with this special blade form come from the Southeast Asian region. They are called Kris and are surrounded by numerous legends. The spiritual significance gave a blacksmith who made such daggers a high reputation. In 2005, UNESCO put the Kris on the list of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Mankind, and in 2008. It was included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mankind. More than 110 years ago, the Kris dagger was already shown in sample books of various Solingen knife manufacturers. Above all, the large Solingen trading companies, which already had their branches in Asia in the 18th century. Brought this blade shape to Solingen in order to have them produced here in series.
