This antique beaker which was skilfully made using a section of bovine horn is by Mappin & Webb, has a silver plated rim, blank silver plated shield cartouche to the front and dates from the early 20th century. SILVER PLATE HUNTING HORN STIRRUP CUP WITH WALL MOUNTING c1920 LODGE PIECE

A super quality unusual silver plated stirrup cup. It has has been designed in the form of a hunting horn with wall mount possibly made by a local craftsman. I would date it to the early to mid 20th century. Its the kind of piece that would have been mounted in a hunting lodge. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs and shows no wear to the plate except deep inside. It measures over 7.5 inches (19.3cms) tall by almost 3 inches (7.4cms) across the rim and weighs 126 grams including the wall bracket. A beautiful and unusual piece.
