Silver mounted Scottish horn mug with Masonic symbol Edinburgh 1911. Hallmarked in 1911 Edinburgh For William Dunningham & Co. Cartouche engraved with Masonic symbol. Height 7.1cm, base diameter 7cm. Very small split to horn so the mug does drip, a decorative object only. 93.5 grams gross. A rare small mug with silver mounts, made in Edinburgh by William Cunningham & Co. The scroll shaped handle has been steam bent and is fixed with silver brackets. The glass bottom is bevelled and the shield cartouche carries the symbol of the Freemasons. I have been involved in the antiques business since 1971. My career took a leap forward when I joined Bonhams in 1976. Some five years later I became head of the Decorative Arts department.
