Beautiful Elkhart Conn 8D with Lawson Leadpipe Atkinson Bell Flare

This horn is an excellent Elkhart 8D, SN 918615. It has had a long, but good life, and is still in excellent working condition. The valves have good compression. The original leadpipe was replaced with a Lawson FB-110-125 leadpipe. The bell has been cut, and the flare was replaced with a custom flare by Atkinson Brass in California. The finger paddles have beautiful, excellent 1943 dimes professionally installed. I personally play an 8D, and this is one of the better Elkhart horns that I have played. The sound is huge and dark. The Lawson pipe and Atkinson flare have added a good deal of flexibility and power to the horn. The soft side of the volume is clear and easy. The louds are powerful. The tone is even between registers, and all registers play easily. This is a fantastic professional instrument that has many years of service left in it if cared for well. The metal of the horn is still in good shape. There is some minor evidence of removal of dents from the bell flare. There are some minor dents in the 3rd valve slide (Bb side), but nothing deep and nothing that is affecting tone. They are easily removable. I might remove them, and if I do, I will update the listing. Included is a very nice ProTec ProPac screw-bell case. It is used but in good condition. No mouthpiece is included, but a mouthpiece can be included upon request. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have! Pair of Very Unusual and Beautiful Sculptures of Ceramic, Silver and Turquoise

Here are a pair of small black ceramic sculptures with hand giving the Devils Horn Gesture to ward off evil. In other asian cultures it has a completely different meaning. In American it means rock on. Since these pieces are not signed I can find no research on these. I found them in an antique shop in LA over ten years ago and thought they were so unusual I bought them. They make a great accent piece to your home decor. Sterling bands wrap around the arms with a Persian turquoise cabochon stone set in an 18k small ring (tested). Great conversation pieces and you won’t find another set like these I assure you. Beautiful Vintage Handmade Parang Machete Wood Sheath With Buffalo Horn Handle

Beautiful Vintage Handmade Parang Machete Wood Sheath With Buffalo Horn Handle and Sheath Accents. This beautiful Parang Knife is made of Carbon Steel and comes with the original wood sheath, decorated with buffalo horn accents. The blade measures 14″ long, 1.75″ wide and 20″ overall length, 22″ overall in sheath. The parang is a type of knife used across the Malay archipelago. It is often mistakenly assumed to be a sword; however, there is no evidence that it has ever been used in a formal military conflict, nor that its intended purpose was to be used as a combat weapon. Although some may argue that it could be called a machete or a chopper as it is a direct variation of the modern machete, its academic status remains as a knife. The parang has three different edges: the front is very sharp and used for skinning, the middle is wider and used for chopping, and the back end (near the handle) is very fine and used for carving. A parang handle is normally made out of wood or horn, with a wide end to prevent slips in wet conditions. The tang of the parang is usually of hidden tang design, but full tang designs are also available. By grinding three different angles in three separate regions along the Parang blade-a narrow angle at the tip for skinning and fine cutting work; a wide, chopping blade angle along the bow in the blade for ax work, and an all-purpose hunting/survival knife angle along the edge nearest the handle for general purpose work-the parang becomes a very useful, and compact all-purpose tool in the bush.
